Dhanaulti is a hill station 24 km from the popular hill station of Mussoorie being one of the amazing places in North India. It is famous for its quiet environs. If you are a nature lover then definitely this is the place one should visit.
Where it is
Dhanaulti is 325 km from Delhi, an 8-9 hrs drive away. The nearest Airport is Jolly Grant Airport 82 km away, which is near Dehradun and nearest railway head is at Dehradun, 66 km away.
How to get there
By air: The closest airport is Jolly Grant, Dehradun at a distance of 80 km. By rail: The nearest railway station is also Dehradun. The taxi stand is right next to the railway station and prepaid cabs to Dhanaulti are easily available at Rs 2500 (one way). The uphill drive is a picturesque one and usually takes less than 2 hours.
By road: One can alternatively drive up to Dhanaulti. The distance is approx. 350 km from New Delhi and takes about 8 hours with traffic.
Best time to visit
Whenever you feel you should visit to mountains then pack your bags and visit Dhanaulti. It is famous for snowfalls in Nov- Mar. The scenic view of Gangotri-Yamunotri Glaciers makes it incredible.
Where to stay
In Dhanaulti, there are so many tent houses where you can chill, relax and have fun with your friends. There was a particular shrub which bore small red flowers from which local people make juices. This juice is so yummy that you can make an cocktail which ever you want and pamper your taste buds.
